We'll be back at Camp Scully again! Make plans to join us for an exciting weekend near Albany, NY.

Join us for three or four wonderful days of fun, laughter and learning as we bring women together from all across the country to sing and play, make new friends and cherish their old ones. Whether you hike, bike, kayak, swim, gaze at the birds or the stars, paint, play the ukulele or drum or you name it, sing, start campfires from scratch, scale walls, write or read, the Women Outdoors Gathering has something for almost everyone.

Camp Scully

From its inception over forty years ago, Women Outdoors has sponsored an annual Gathering for all members. Join us this summer at our home since 2021.

Camp Scully is located on Snyder’s Lake in North Greenbush, approximately 10 miles from Albany and Troy in New York.

We'll have exclusive use of the entire facility, with tent, cabin, and cottage options, as well as very limited RV space (no hookups). For those not in a cottage, there are central bath houses with showers, toilets, and hot water.

We are continuing our pitch-in tradition at this year's Gathering. We are renting the campus, but there is no staff so we will be providing all services for ourselves. This means we're responsible for programming all activities, food service, meal prep and cleanup, taking out trash as needed, etc. It also means we are able to keep our operating costs much lower and can pass on the savings to our members by keeping fees as low as possible.

In return, we ask everyone to pitch in with one or more tasks that best suit her interests and capabilities. When you register, we'll ask how you can help make this a successful Gathering.

  • Lead a workshop
  • Lead a hike or bike ride on/off campus (we have maps and directions)
  • Organize an evening activity -  camp fire, dance, talent show, games or something new!

Food/Meals - Help out in the kitchen

  • Food prep assistant / kitchen cleanup
  • Dining room prep & cleanup
  • Dishwashers (note: we have access to a commercial dishwasher)

  • Take a turn at the registration table
  • Help run the Gathering Store
  • Take-down and final clean-up sweep before we leave

Have questions about:

We're especially looking for someone to be Kitchen Supervisor for two/three lunches. Becky will be overseeing meal planning and ordering food for all meals, but would like to be able to get out of the kitchen for part of each day. So we're looking for someone who will oversee setting out lunch foods on Saturday, and possibly Friday and/or Sunday.

Activities will be led by volunteers among us as part of our Pitch-In program. The camp has hiking and paddling opportunities and space for indoor and outdoor activities.

Off-campus there are nearby waterfall hikes and biking trails.

Check out all of the various options and possible workshops and evening activities that will be offered:
