WOOF: Women Outdoors Online Funtimes presents

    Walking the Camino:
    A 600 Mile Journey of Self-Discovery

    COMING TO YOU ON ZOOM

Note: Zoom Meeting Details will be sent with your confirmation email

Join Danielle "Danny" Dehm for this WOOF on her walking on the Camino!

Walking more than 575 miles on the Camino de Santiago in northern Spain, also known as the Way of St James, with all I needed in a 21 pound pack on my back, was the landscape for an extraordinary journey. From Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port in France to Santiago and onward to Finisterre and Muxia which ancient pilgrims referred to as ‘the end of the earth’ and ‘where heaven meets earth’, I was witness to a profound quiet to ‘hear’. I experienced a peace of mind that affirmed the mantra of my walk: I am blessed. I am grateful.

We are all on our own walk. Learn more about this adventure and the path that may open for you. Buen Camino!

There are more WOOF events coming up soon.

Do you have a WOOF session you'd like to lead, with our support and Zoom account? Say...

      • A virtual yoga session
      • A cooking segment
      • A slideshow on your fabulous vacation
      • A session on winter hiking or other outdoor skills
      • A session with the author of a great outdoors book

Alternatively, do you have a presenter you'd like to suggest?

Please don't hesitate to contact the WOOF organizers at WOOF@womenoutdoors.org.

Enjoy the last week of winter playing in the Green Mountains of Southern Vermont.  There will be x-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice-skating, downhill skiing, socializing, and sipping hot chocolate by the fire!

Our base of operations will be the historic Echo Lake Inn in Ludlow, Vermont! For those of you able to have a long weekend, meet us on Wednesday afternoon or evening and get settled into the lovely inn. We’ll have 4 days of winter fun and head home on Sunday. There is also the option to just come for the weekend or for the day if you live close by.

PLEASE NOTE: You will need to make your own room reservation for this trip. Please sign up here on Women Outdoors' site and then see in istructions below to reserve your room. You can also check the comments on the Meetup event to see if anyone already has a room they want to share.

      SKIING, ETC.

There are several x-country ski and snowshoe centers in this area.

      • Close by, right in Ludlow, is the Fox Run Golf Course with 7 miles of Nordic track trails and skating lanes that "wind their way through pristine meadows and Nordic hillsides along the Black River.”
      • In Londonderry, VT, a 23-minute drive to the south, the Viking Nordic Center offers “Beautiful trails that wind through old woods, past classic Vermont scenery, around a busy beaver pond, and alongside the West River."  They offer 16 miles of meticulously groomed ski trails for both classic and skate skiing, with another 2.4 miles of dedicated snowshoe trails.
      • A 38-minute drive to the North, there is also Woodstock Nordic Center located in Woodstock, VT, which contains 27 miles of x-country ski trails.
      • For downhill skiing fans, there is Okemo Mountain with 632 acres, 6 terrain parks and 20 lifts.

After the day's activities we can relax at the Echo Lake Inn and have a cup of hot chocolate by the fire, socialize with others, shoot darts or play pool in the tavern. There is also the option of board games and searching the inn for ghosts!
