Fall VT paddle trip - Connecticut River +.

Women’s weekend paddle trip on the Connecticut River on moving water with a gentle flow, and on a nearby lake. We will be renting a large house near the Mt Ascutney region. More details to follow on registration.
We will be ‘vetting’ people to make sure that this is a good paddling fit for you all.

Estimated costs $200-250 plus food share

Day 1: We will be paddling down the Connecticut River. Must be able to paddle long distances/long hours: about 10 miles on the river/ 5-6 hours paddle time.

Day 2: nearby lake

Kayak rentals available for $60 for weekend.
We will split the cost of the lodging and food. More info closer to date of trip.


PLEASE NOTE: Overnight Women Outdoors trips are open only to dues-paying members of the Women Outdoors organization. Joining this Meetup group does not make you a WO member; you can sign up, starting at $30/year (or $15 for those under 18, full-time students, and seniors 65 and over) at our organization's national site: http://womenoutdoors.org/joinus.

Participant Guidelines
o For day trips, Participants are encouraged but not required to be members of Women Outdoors. We ask you to become members after two trips with WO. For overnight trips, participants are required to be members of the organization
o Prepare for your trip by following the directions and recommendations made by your trip leader such as: achieving the physical conditioning necessary for the trip, bringing the proper equipment, the necessary food, water, etc.
o Leave information about your trip location and itinerary with a friend or family.
o Share any medical concerns or needs with the trip leader and accurately portray your skill level to the trip leader.
o Understand and accept responsibility for your own safety and the safety of others by acting prudently and exercising good judgment.
o Be aware of your own limits: take responsibility to do only what you feel competent doing on a trip and take the initiative to express your discomfort when necessary.
o Work cooperatively with the trip leader and others as part of your group.
o Become aware of and use sound environmental practices.
