  Join me on a presentation about my 7 day trip floating 80 miles down Idaho's Main Salmon River.

  

  In August 2025, Randi joined a group of 15 others in 6 rafts to float the Main Fork of Idaho's storied Salmon River, through the largest wilderness area in the lower 48. On the trip she camped on sand bars, ran dozens of rapids, and got to visit the historic homestead of Buckskin Bill, a character she had been fascinated with since she read a book about him when she was 21.

  Topics covered: history of the Salmon River, river life, sites seen and visited, and more! 

  Presenter Bio:  Randi Quackenbush is a Women Outdoor's Board Member. She loves hiking, backpacking, paddling, skiing, and camping in all seasons, and she travels to the mountains at every opportunity. She lives in Trumansburg, NY with her husband and dog Luna.

  2026 National Cross-Country Ski Weekend in Craftsbury, Vermont

  Lodging, Meals, and Skiing

  Dates: Friday, February 27 - Sunday March 1, 2026

  Location: Craftsbury Outdoor Center in the heart of Vermont’s unspoiled Northeast Kingdom 

  Fee: 2 nights and 3 days, double occupancy with 2 twin beds ($235pp) or single ($290pp).

  This amazing weekend features 3 days and 2 nights of cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating and socializing. Women Outdoors members from all regions are encouraged and welcome to attend this event.

  Includes accommodations, all meals (from Friday dinner to Sunday lunch), and cross-country touring tickets.

  The restroom and showers are shared on each floor. Bedding and towels are provided. 

  Meals include both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The variety and fresh local ingredients are just fabulous. Gluten-free and other specialties are available with advance notice.
