Finger Lakes 20th Anniversary Celebration

Join us as we celebrate 20 years of the Finger Lakes Region of Women Outdoors

Attendance is for members only.

RSVP by Wednesday, September 24.

We've rented Shelter 3 with a view of the waterfront as our home base and will be serving lunch there. Entrance fee is $8/car.

Activities include:

  • Stroll, Hike or Bike:
    • along the waterfront past the Geneva visitors center and to the 41 Lakefront Hotel (easy, paved, 2.5 miles each way)
    • the Seneca-Cayuga Canal Trail (easy, 5 miles)
    • on the nature trail within the park
  • Paddle on Seneca Lake or the Seneca-Cayuga Canal
  • Watch the Seneca Monster Regata paddlers on the lake
  • Play lawn games: Cornhole, Bocce (if you have something else, please bring it)
  • Hang out with fellow members - don't forget your lawn chairs!
  • Play cards and other games (bring your favorite)
  • Join us for a catered lunch

      Catered Menu:

      • Appetizer sandwiches
      • Pizza 
      • Make your own salad with lots of toppings
      • Dessert (fruit, pies, and more)
      • Flavored seltzer and apple cider
      • Note: We will have gluten free and vegan options (let us know when you register!)

      Bring:

      • Your own chair or whatever else keeps you comfortable
      • A dish to share if so inspired (optional).
      • Water bottle, and optionally your own drink.
      • Bug spray, sunscreen, hat.
      • Dress appropriately for the weather.

      To Paddle: 

      • Kayak/canoe, paddle, PFD (life jacket)
      • Water shoes and plenty of water to drink.
      • Clothes that can get wet (not cotton), change of clothes, towel, etc.
      • Don't carry anything that can't get wet unless it is in a waterproof container.
      • Recommended: band to secure your glasses or sunglasses, whistle
      • Optional: binoculars, waterproof camera (or a waterproof bag to put it in).

      To Hike: walking shoes, sturdy foot wear, hiking sticks optional

      Entrance Fee/Parking

      • Entrance Fee is $8/car.
      • Carpool from the Geneva Visitor center to share the entrance fee.
      • Entrance to the park is free if walking or biking from the Visitor center.
      • Follow the signs to the park office and shelter 3

      Dogs: Up to two pets are allowed, and must be on a leash not more than 6-feet in length. Pets are to be supervised at all times and either be crated or on a leash not more than 6-feet in length. Proof of rabies inoculation shall be produced if requested by staff.

      Please update your RSVP if you sign-up but then are unable to attend. If you must cancel at the last minute, call or text the event host/trip leader (see your registration confirmation for contact details).

      To Cancel: Go to your  Registration List

      • Click on this event in your list
      • Click on the Already registered link under the REGISTER button.
      • At the next page that opens with your registration form, click on the CANCEL REGISTRATION button, and then again click on Cancel Registration on the pop-up form.
