  • Enjoy beautiful scenery and vibrant fall colors on this very rocky out and back and up and down hike.
UPDATE!  Unfortunately, we need to cancel the Raven Rocks hike because the leaders are not available that day.  If you have your heart set on hiking, check out the Hiking Upward website for the Raven Rocks hike for directions to the trail head and description of the hike.

Enjoy the beautiful autumn colors on the Raven Rocks hike along the Appalachian Trail starting in Bluemont, Virginia. This rocky and very strenuous 5.5 mile out and back hike features three major ascents, so sturdy hiking boots are a must, and hiking poles are strongly recommended.  We think the views will make this hike worthwhile.

We'll head north on the white-blazed AT as it crosses the first ridge.  On the second ridge, we'll overlook the Winchester Valley.  On our way up the third ridge, we'll pass a sign marking the Virginia/West Virginia border before reaching the overlook with views of the Shenandoah Valley.

This free event is open to members and non-members of Women Outdoors Mid-Atlantic.  Non-members are invited to join us on two events before we ask you to join Women Outdoors.  You can join now by clicking on this Join Us link.
