Please join me (Anna) for a leisurely walk along the trail at Chaumont Barrens. Below is a description of the area and what you might see. It's a beautiful location especially for those who love to take pictures. So please bring your camera, lots of water, hat, sunscreen, bug repellent and anything else you feel you might need. There's a small shaded area by the parking lot with a picnic table where we can eat lunch before or after the hike if we like.

We will meet in the parking lot of Chaumont Barrens at 11:00 am. The length of this hike is all dependent on how fast we move along. There is no time limit. Please post a comment if you have any questions.

Trail: 1.7mile loop (owned by The Nature Conservancy)

Because of the very shallow soil, holes and fissures in the rocks and unique plants there- it is requested that visitors stay on the trail and stepping stones where provided and avoid wearing shoes that have deep treads. NOTE: No facilities in the area - the last one would be at the Nice-N-Easy on corner of Rte 12E and MORRIS TRACK RD (formerly Co Rte 125)

*** RSVP and Cancellations – IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ ***

Please respect the trip leader and update your RSVP if you sign-up but then are unable to attend. Please also RSVP early, especially if there are only a few signed up. Events may be cancelled due to lack of attendance, as well as changes in weather or other circumstances. If you must cancel at the last minute, call or text the event host/trip leader (see your registration confirmation for contact details) and let her know who it is who is calling/texting. Be sure to copy down the address, directions, and trip leader contact information to bring with you as there might not be good cell service at the event location.
