Spring is here and wildflowers are bursting out everywhere, especially Virginia bluebells. One of the best places around to see these little blue beauties is Riverbend Park in Fairfax County. We'll take the trail along the Potomac River and head toward Great Falls Park and hike 3-5 miles depending on the wishes of the group.
We're meeting later than usual because we are meeting on a weekday and we want to drive after the morning traffic. We realize some of you cannot come during the week but we are trying to experiment with a few mid-week events. Bring your camera and binoculars on this picturesque hike. Most of the terrain is flat, but be sure and wear sturdy shoes or hiking boots because parts of the trail could be muddy.
This free event is open to members and non-members of Women Outdoors. Non-members are welcome to join us on two events to see what you think. On your third event, we'll ask you join Women Outdoors, or you can join now by clicking on this Join Us link.
Registration closes on Wednesday, April 17. Please enter your cell phone number in case we need to reach you with any last minute changes or cancellation because of weather. If you need to cancel, please call or text one of the leaders (their contact info will be in the automatic email).
*** New *** Be sure and save the automatic email you will receive as soon as you register. This email will have all of the details you will need for the hike. We will not be sending another follow-up email just prior to the hike as in the past.
