Registration is closed

This 2.5 mile out and back hike goes generally down on the outbound leg through deciduous forest. We'll pass by an old homestead site and visit a campsite on a small pond at the turn around point. The return trip will be generally uphill.

If you only wish to do the first half of the hike there is a parking area at the half-way point and we can spot a car there. Let me know in advance if you wish to do this.

Current forecast calls for mild weather between now and the hike. You can expect mud. We won't know about rain until we get closer to the date.

There is a passable outhouse at the trail head, but no other facilities.

What to bring

- Sturdy boots or shoes that can handle mud and wet conditions. You may want to bring an extra pair of shoes for your drive home (and a plastic bag for your muddy shoes).

- Clothes for the weather. Layers are best. Rain gear if needed.

- Snack and water

- Hiking poles if you have them - useful in the mud

- Gaiters if you have them - keep your pants dry and mud-free

- A good attitude - no complaining about mud and rain :-)
