Potluck and planning and gear and apples, OH MY!
Linda has invited us to her home again. We’ll start out with our Fall/Winter Planning Meeting, a great opportunity for those of you who are not paid members to learn more about Women Outdoors! Then we'll break for a hearty lunch around 12:30 pm.
Linda will be making beef chili. We'll provide appetizers and drinks (bring your own spirits/beer!). If you want, BRING a dish to pass or dessert. You may bring something that needs to be kept warm.
Don't forget your calendar and ideas for the next 3 months.
After the meeting and lunch, we're having our first-ever * GEAR SWAP *. If you want, bring your gently loved outdoor gear (books okay, too) that you're ready to give away. You know the old saying, "One woman's junk is another woman's treasure," or something like that. So gather up any outdoor item, clothing, book, etc. that you are no longer using and were going to donate or sell. Swap it instead with another Women Outdoors member or attendee. If you don't have anything to swap, that's OK - there will be plenty to go around. (Anything not swapped or given away must go home with its original owner.)
* Apple Picking and More *
Linda's wonderful neighbors who own the orchards next door have invited us to pick apples. They always leave apples on some trees after the picking season is over. So if you'd like some apples, bring a bag with you. Also available is a walk to the pond, into the woods, or the cemetery across the street.
Please *NO dogs*, as Linda has chickens running all over her yard!!!
This free event is open to members and non-members of Women Outdoors. Non-members are invited to join us on two events to see what you think. The third time's a charm - we'll ask you to join Women Outdoors at that point. You can join now by clicking on Join Us.
*** RSVP and Cancellations – IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ ***
Please respect the trip leader and update your RSVP if you sign-up but then are unable to attend. Please also RSVP early, especially if there are only a few signed up. Events may be cancelled due to lack of attendance, as well as changes in weather or other circumstances. If you must cancel at the last minute, call or text the event host/trip leader (see your registration confirmation for contact details) and let her know who it is who is calling/texting. Be sure to copy down the address, directions, and trip leader contact information to bring with you as there might not be good cell service at the event location.
