We will take a leisurely walk thru a 20 acre woodland looking for the springtime delicacy, morel mushrooms, hoping the conditions are right.
Please come prepared for a woodland walk.Bring/Wear: Hiking/walking shoes, long pants, long sleeve shirt, hat, rain gear if rain is predicted, water, insect repellent with deet. You must have a mesh bag for your morels. (We use a mesh bag to spread the spores for next year as we carry our morels thru the woodlands). There will be some for sale for $3 if you do not have one.
Like any hunt, finding them is not guaranteed. The soil temperature must be 55 and it needs to be hot and humid. If we do find some, we can sautee a few on the grill after the hunt. If that is the case plan to stay for a taste test! MMMmmmm good.
We will meet at Linda's home. Please RSVP for address and contact information.
