Rachel Carson Conservation Trail Hike - Take Two

  • 27 Feb 2016
  • 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
  • Rachel Carson Conservation Park, Brookeville, MD

Registration

  • Rescheduled because of Snowzilla! Join us for a walk in the woods as we explore this conservation area in upper Montgomery County.

Registration is closed

Okay, so we had to cancel this hike in January because of the remnants of Snowzilla, but it's such a perfect winter hike that we wanted to try it again.

The Rachel Carson Conservation Park honors Montgomery County's own Rachel Carson. The Silent Spring author is considered by many to be the mother of the modern environmental movement.

We'll meander about 4 or 5 miles on the trails through the park. Bring your binoculars for some good winter birding. The park is densely populated by numerous species of wildlife and high quality forest and features spectacular rock outcroppings. The Hawlings River passes through the southern edge of the park.

This free event is open to members and non-members of Women Outdoors Mid-Atlantic. Non-members are invited to join us on two events to see what you think. On your third event, we'll ask you to join Women Outdoors. You can also join now by clicking Join Us.

Registration closes Thursday, February 25.  Please include a telephone number in case we need to let you know about last minute changes or if we need to cancel because of the weather.

Thanks.
