  • 21 Mar 2015
  • 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
  • Ashburn, VA

Registration

  • We ride to eat! Join us on the W & OD rail-trail in Loudoun County as we bike from Ashburn to Purcellville and back and then treat ourselves to some famous Carolina Brothers Barbecue.

Registration is closed
The W&OD Trail, named for the Washington and Old Dominion Railroad that ran along this right-of-way from 1859-1968, is a magnet for bikers, walkers, runners and in-line skaters from across the region.

We'll start our ride in Ashburn, VA and bike west through historic Leesburg to Purcellville before turning around and heading back. Scenic countryside along this flat Rail-Trail will make for an enjoyable ride. Plan on about 20 miles, give or take a bit. Helmets are required.

Bring snacks for the ride but save your appetite for barbecue afterwards. Carolina Brothers Barbecue is oh-so-conveniently located right next to the bike trail. Nothing beats a barbecue sandwich when you're hungry.

This free event is open to members and non-members of Women Outdoors Mid-Atlantic. Non-members are invited to join us on two events to see what you think. The third time's a charm - we'll ask you to join Women Outdoors at that point. You can also join now by clicking on this Join Us link.

Registration closes on Thursday, March 19. Please include a telephone number in case of last minute changes or if we need to cancel because of weather.

Thanks.
