Volunteer-led Workshops

Volunteer-led workshops are a long tradition at our Gathering. This year, with such a plethera of workshop options offered by BOC staff, all other workshops will be selected by the Gathering Committee.

To volunteer to lead a workshop, send an email with Title and Description to workshops@womenoutdoors.org.

If your workshop is selected you will receive a $35 rebate on your registration fee. In order to receive the rebate you must submit your workshop description by the July 30th deadline. The rebate will be a reimbursement given after the Gathering is over. If you want to lead an activity but you don’t want to organize it until you get to the Gathering, you are welcome to do so, but you will not receive a rebate.

Boating/Swimming

We'll be kayaking and canoeing on Rudd Pond, a 100-acre, pristine, spring-fed pond. The Berkshire Outdoor Center owns the land on all sides, and there are no powered craft in use. There is swimming, boating and fishing in the pond, as well as hiking and camping around the perimeter. A rope swing and swim dock provide waterfront activity choices.

Please note: due to the danger of invasive species spread, we aren't allowed to bring our own boats; they'll be provided, as will PFDs and paddles. You can, however, bring your own paddle and/or PFD if you like.

Beginning and intermediate kayaking and canoeing classes will be offered by ACA instructors Bonna Wieler and Deb Weisenstein, respectively.

Challenge Courses

BOC operates the most comprehensive educational challenge course in the region, with options for high ropes, a climbing tower, a zip line, and more. Read More
