CANCELLED DUE TO LACK OF SNOW

Join Lynn and Val for our second trip to Osceola for Cross Country Skiing/Snow Shoeing

We'll meet at 11 am inside the building at the fireplace to discuss our plan for the day. Please be ready at that time with all of your gear, renting or your own. Bring your lunch so we can eat something before we head out. Popular beverages/pre-packaged snacks are available for purchase at the ski center.

This is a good area for inexperienced cross country skiers - so don't be scared off if you have never tried it. Lynn attended last year and it was her first real try at cross country skiing and it went quite well. Valerie taught Lynn a lot and it turned out to be a fun day. Lynn and Valerie would be pleased to do an intro to cross country skiing for those who are new to it.

Cross Country trail fees are $20 or $18 for seniors (62+) and $10 for snowshoeing. Check out the website for more information about the Center at www.UXCSKI.com.

Rent of skis & poles: $20,  Snowshoes $10. More information at http://www.uxcski.com/trail-rental-fees/

The ski center needs to know in advance how many plan to attend; especially if we have people renting. Please let us know when you register. And if renting, please arrive early to be ready to go at 11 am.

Bring:

Required:

  • Appropriate outdoor winter clothing for cold and/or wet conditions. Dress in layers. No jeans or cotton clothing.

  • Your own skis and gear or snow shoes if not renting.

Recommended:

  • Spare mittens or gloves, hat and socks to change into if you are wet or in need of extra layers.

  • Small back or fanny pack to carry layers of clothing you take off as you’re skiing. Best to carry these items with you so you can put them back on when standing still or as conditions change.

  • Thermos of hot beverage and/or water bottle.

Optional: camera

Please refrain from attending if you have recently been ill or have COVID-like symptoms.

Address will be in your registration confirmation email.

The automatic confirmation email is the only email you will receive about this event. Be sure and save it or print it out.
