This park has forests, ponds and swampy areas.  The trail is mostly flat and parts are usually wet.  It sits next to Oneida Lake and also has picnic and camping areas.

We will enter the trail from the parking lot, hike a short distance and then cross Route 13.  The hike will be 3-4 miles.  I want to try hiking around the swamp, if it is not too wet.  The last time I was at this park, I saw heron, fox and snakes.

Directions:  At the corner of Route 31 and Route 13, turn North.  At the next traffic light, turn left into the park.  At the stop sign, turn right and come all the way down to the unkempt parking area.

Bring bug spray, water and your lunch.  We will eat on the trail.

NO dogs, please.

Address: Verona Beach State Park  6541 Lakeshore Rd. South, Verona Beach, NY  Lat:43.176266, Long: -75.728050
